Impression Pendants use found textures in the physical world as jewelry molds. They are made by creating impressions from textures found around the world from historically and culturally significant landmarks and objects. Each pendant is individually hand-sculpted and hand-fired.
This impression was created from Storkyrkan (Stockholm Cathedral). It is the oldest church in Stockholm, known to be built in the 13th century and inaugurated in 1306. For nearly 400 years, it served as the parish church for all of Stockholm and was built at the center of the medieval city. It sits on the highest point of Gamla stan. The exquisite antique door knobs display a pair of the “All Seeing-Eye” or the “The Eye of Providence” surrounded by a triangle and a halo of light. It is a known symbol in Christianity representing God’s watchful eye over humanity.
Silver naturally oxidizes when exposed to the elements and will require occasional cleaning. Look for silver polishes, solutions, or cloths appropriate to remove tarnish at most hardware or specialty craft stores. Avoid exposing silver to household chemicals when cleaning with bleach or ammonia, or when swimming in chlorinated water.
