Impression Pendants use found textures in the physical world as jewelry molds. They are made by creating impressions from textures found around the world from historically and culturally significant landmarks and objects. Each pendant is individually hand-sculpted and hand-fired.
This impression was created from a Viking Runestone in Stockholm, Sweden.
The “Uppland Runic Inscription 53” (U 53) is an ancient Viking runestone embedded at the intersection of Prästgatan and Kåkbrinken streets in Gamla stan. It is believed to be older than Stockholm itself, estimating back to the 11th century. The stone illustrates a winding serpent body, with a partial translated inscription - "Torsten and Frögunn had the stone erected after their son." The Pagan female name, Frögunn, helped define the origin of the text.
Silver naturally oxidizes when exposed to the elements and will require occasional cleaning. Look for silver polishes, solutions, or cloths appropriate to remove tarnish at most hardware or specialty craft stores. Avoid exposing silver to household chemicals when cleaning with bleach or ammonia, or when swimming in chlorinated water.
